Hi Everyone!

My name is Katie and I am a writer.

​

I want to use this blog as a way to share my ideas with the world and see where it all goes.

​

I write in a variety of different styles including short stories, screenplays (I have written a couple of shorts and I am working on a couple of feature lengths), and a bit of poetry. I am also brand new to blogging and I am working on an idea for a books series. 

​

A little about me. I currently live in Austin, Texas, however, I am originally from Los Angels, California. I recently graduated from Southwestern University, majoring in English with an emphasis in Film. So, it might come to no surprise that I love books, movies, and stories in pretty much any format I can get my hands on them. 

I love fiction! Fantasy is my favorite genre. Some of my favorite fantasy stories include Harry Potter (duh), Lord of the Rings (also duh), Star Wars (shocker...), Game of Thrones (no surprise there), and Chronicles of Narnia (yup, this chick is a nerd). But honestly, I will find enjoyment in pretty much any genre as long as it is a good story!

I also LOVE Disney, I am obsessed with their movies and theme parks. Not only can Disney tell incredible stories, but they also pay so much attention to the details (which I love).

I also have a great love for classic literature. Classics are classics for a reason and I can't help but advocate for reading them. I love Pride and Prejudice (I know, typical girly book, but it is SO good!), Jane Eyre, and The Great Gatsby (this girl is such a stereotypical English major). I also thoroughly enjoy the works of Charles Dickens and William Shakespeare (very stereotypical). But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE piece of classic literature has to be Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

 

[I love this book so much that I have written multiple papers on it. Including my Capstone paper. Essentially I can rant about Frankenstein for a while and I am sure I will at some point on this blog, so I will spare you all of that for now.]

I believe it is also important to tell you that I am devout Christian and my faith is a very important part of my life. I strive to be an empathetic and loving person, who just wants to share both the love that I experience and the love I have to give with as many people as I can.

​

I also, like any person, have many interests such as music (I can sing and play guitar and occasionally lead worship at my church), I love to dance, and I have some really amazing friends that I love to spend time with and go on adventures with. I also hope to travel much more in the future and maybe even will share some of my traveling experiences here on my blog.

As you can see I have a lot of passion and love for many different things, hence why I named my blog "messy," since I am a little all over the place when it comes to my interests.
